HOUSING BRIDGE SPECIALIST


Position Summary:
The Housing Bridge Specialist provides a variety of office and field -based activities in a transitional housing program that promotes consumer choice in housing within the private rental market. This individual will work with landlords and clients to locate, apply for, and assist with securing suitable housing through move-in for adults with serious mental illness. Work involves orienting all eligible participants to the program and providing housing search and supportive services to promote participants' self-sufficiency, integration into the community, and transition to permanent housing. This role involves both clinical and office responsibilities.

***$5,000 SIGN-ON BONUS FOR ALL FULL-TIME, CLINICAL OPPORTUNITIES***

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with clients and clinicians to complete housing bridge, 811 PRA, and other relevant housing applications
  • Managing individual tenant files that require frequent updates to documentation
  • Tracking applications and updates in an electronic medical record and in a property management program
  • Overseeing timely completion of apartment inspections, lease renewals, annual recertifications and payments to landlords
  • Assisting clients with identifying initial rental needs and resources, such as security deposits, setting up utilities, and obtaining furniture
  • Being the point of contact for landlords, clinicians, and housing entities such as HUD and DHHS
  • Being the point of contact with landlords and clients to locate, apply and assist in securing suitable housing through move in
  • Outreach and networking with local landlords in the community
Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills are a must.
  • Accounting/financial skills are preferred
  • Availability to work flexible hours.
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Education: Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work rehabilitation, or human services preferred. Experience: At least one-year prior experience working in the human services field is preferred. Qualifications: Must have active driver's license and automobile with liability insurance in the agency's minimum amounts. Job Type: Full-time
