Job Title: Housekeeper
Status: Part Time
Grade: 3 (Facility 1)
Salary: $10.00 per hour
Reports to: Facilities and Grounds Leadership Team
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. This position supports the daily upkeep of camp’s grounds and facilities to ensure a safe, clean and comfortable experience for our campers through positively communicating with Food Services, Program, and Maintenance to address concerns that impact all Camp Fitch programs. This person supports the Grounds, Housekeeping, and Maintenance Team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Models Camp Fitch Core Values: Empathy (Listen First), Growth Mindset, Vulnerability, and Servant Leadership.
  • Models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Responds to all participants and community inquiries and complaints in timely manner.
  • Models positive and supportive communication between Program, Food Services, and Maintenance to ensure a safe, clean and comfortable experience for our staff, patrons, and volunteers.
  • Assists with the upkeep, cleaning, and improvement of all Camp Fitch housekeeping responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma
  • 18 years of age
  • Personal commitment to servant leadership and core YMCA values.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments
    of the community.
  • Attain required training within 90 days, CPR/O2/FA, New Staff Orientation, Child Abuse Prevention, Blood Borne Pathogens
  • Complete on-site equipment safety training

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • The physical demands of the job, that include (but are not limited to) being on your feet and walking for long periods of time on uneven terrain in all weather conditions (hot sun, ice and snow, rain, wind), must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.   • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use a computer for extended periods of time and be able to communicate using a computer and phone/smart device.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with periods of high noise and auditory chaos.
