Position Title:
High School Teacher - ISS
Job Responsibilities:
1. Provide supervision for students who are assigned to the In-School Suspension classroom.
2.Review in-school suspension policies, procedures and student expectations with students daily.
3. Work with students and or other staff members during student reflection period on issues such as behavior management and the prevention of undesirable behaviors that resulted in student being assigned to ISS.
4. Monitor all ISS assignments; provide encouragement and feedback to students, monitor tests, computer work and provide instructional assistance as appropriate.
5.Email teachers in advance for work requests and complete student Work Completion
6. Logs for all students assigned to the room.
Specific Duties:
1. Provides instruction in appropriate academic area.
2. Provides instruction or remediation as necessary.
3. Prepares lesson plans and makes optimum use of class time to meet stated objectives.
4. Evaluates each pupil's performance, knowledge, and skills in academic area of responsibility.
5. Maintains accurate and complete student records.
6. Assists in the storage, maintenance and use of materials and property.
7. Participates in planning and developing Program goals, objectives, curricula, and methods as requested.

Must hold valid NYS Teacher Certificate
Any Secondary Education Teaching Certificate
