We are currently seeking two Helpline Carer Support Advisers to join our Helpline team in Medway. As Helpline Carer Support Adviser, you will need to demonstrate good communication and listening skills, and work positively with a range of people who may be struggling in their caring role, providing tailored information, advice, and guidance, undertaking proportionate assessments of carers needs, and assisting with support planning where needed.

Job Title: Helpline - Carers Support Advisers – two roles

Salary: Role 1 £22,571 per annum (37 Hours)

Role 2 £13,421 per annum (22 Hours)

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Role 1 - 37 Hours per Week

Role 2 - 22 Hours per Week

Location: Office Based – Central Office - Strood

We work directly with and for, unpaid carers to provide personalised information, advice, and support. Making it easier for those caring for someone else to continue living their lives to the fullest.

We currently support carers in eight areas in the Southeast, London, and East of England and are recruiting 2 Carers Support Advisers based in our Central Carers Helpline in Strood. Working days to be discussed at the interview but ideally, both posts will work various days Monday to Friday 9-5 pm.

The post holder will work within our busy Carers Helpline team providing information and advice to carers on the telephone. Being the first point of contact for carers, you will be required to provide tailored information, advice, and guidance in undertaking a proportionate assessment of carers’ needs and where appropriate assist with support planning.

Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate they have good communication and listening skills as well as empathy and compassion to positively work with a range of people who may be struggling in their caring role.

An overview of health and social care, particularly relating to adults and carers as well as experience in providing support over the telephone in a Helpline or Call Centre setting would be an advantage but not essential.
