Job Summary:

The Heavy Equipment Operator/ Truck Driver position is to work with the Sawmill, Distribution Center, Pellet Mill, and Log Yard Departments (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM) Monday – Friday, at our facility in New London, NH. Primary responsible for loading and hauling wood ships within the mill complex using a tractor-trailer with a self – unloading floor. There may be occasional local deliveries staying within a 50-mile radius. This position involves operating CDL A vehicle and abiding by the required rules and regulations.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Replenish the wood chips at the Pellet Mill daily
- Working with the distribution center to move trailers once they have been filled with product
- Manage and maintain wood chip inventory pile and infeed area
- Perform/coordinate good housekeeping in the facility
- Separate purchased wood chip product that has been directly sold to a buyer
- Move materials as directed by the Plant Supervisor
- Empty the “Blue Bin” at the Distribution Center as directed by the supervisor
- Perform safety checks of brakes, steering column, lights, and mirrors prior to operating the vehicle
- Must have a professional attitude and work well with others
- Maintain and promote a safe working environment and follow all workplace and job safety procedures

- Knowledge of the lumber industry (Preferred)
- Drug & Alcohol Drug Screenings
- Clean driving record
- Current medical card

Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) (Preferred)
- CDL A required
- Experience operating a bucket loader, wood grinder and other heavy equipment is preferred.

Physical Requirements:
- Occasional lifting, pulling, or pushing up to 50 pounds.
- Continuous walking or standing.
- Climbing ladders and working in elevated positions following company safety procedures.
- Bending, squatting, climbing stairs, and occasionally lifting items above the shoulders.

Work Environment:
- Indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and all-weather conditions.
- Walking on slippery or uneven surfaces from time to time.
- Hearing protection is required in certain areas of the facility.
- Buildings and grounds are non-smoking except in designated smoking areas.
