The primary role of the heavy equipment operator is to ensure the safe flow of material is maintained from the mine to the raw clay storage building. Schedule is Monday – Thursday 6am-4pm (will require flexibility with weather conditions).

Essential Job Functions:

• Operate Equipment Smoothly, Safely and Efficiently and Follow Mining Plans
• Accountable for managing ownership area (Haul Truck Operators – Haul Road Condition), (Excavator Operators – Pit Area around Excavator including spotting of Trucks), (Dozer Operator – Dump area)
• Complete All Required Reports Accurately and Timely Including - PRE-SHIFT Inspections, Area Examinations, Operator Equipment Report.
• Support and Move Safety Culture Forward by immediately reporting Hazards, Conducting Slams, Performing BBS Observations, Following safety Procedures and participating in Tail Gate Meetings.
• Task Train and/or train co-workers on equipment. Ensure training is properly documented.
• Follow Environmental Policies including reporting/controlling spills, installing and maintaining BMP’s, Taking Water Samples as necessary, and treating low PH water.
• In addition to the above, tasks and projects may be added on a temporary or permanent basis as deemed necessary by management.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills:

• Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous training and certification on equipment is a plus.
• CDL license is a plus, but not required.
• Must be willing to work all areas of mine department as needed.
• Knowledge and operation of heavy equipment.
• Good communication skills (verbal and written).
• Must be willing to work in a hot, cold, dusty, and noisy environment.
• Inclement weather may warrant the necessity to work hours longer than normal to ensure the flow of material is maintained.
