Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Experience – We are looking for an individual who has experience in heavy construction equipment, heavy truck and pickup truck repairs and maintenance. This individual should have strong organizational skills. Quality communication and time management skills are required. Knowledge in Cummins engines, Ford trucks, hydraulics, electronics, diagnostics, and emissions is preferred.

Hours – 5-day 40-hour week (+/-), subject to change due to work load.

Tasks – The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be required to:

• Perform and assist with tasks such as:
• Oil changes
• Tire changing and rotation
• Basic parts installation and repairs
• Hydraulic and electronic repairs
• Motor repairs
• Diagnostics

• Complete work orders
• Follow clearly set schedules
• Interface with service manager for scheduled repairs and maintenance
• Order parts and follow up on the deliveries to ensure quality and timely supply chain processes
• Read and interpret documents such as warranties, operators and/or maintenance manuals
• Remain current in industry repair issues, current trends and new technologies
• Maintain shop inventory in proper system(s)
• Ensure paperwork/receipts are sent to the office
• Safety adherence, compliance and management.

Requirements – A Heavy Equipment Mechanic must:

• Pass all appropriate scheduled and/or random drug tests as may be required
• Be willing to ask for assistance if unsure of tasks, tools, or equipment
• Be able to walk, stand, bend, kneel or stretch for extended periods
• Be able to lift/carry/push/pull 50-pound items.
