Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. has a contingent opportunity for a full time Heavy Equipment Electrician in Virginia Beach, VA.

Summary: Heavy Equipment Electrician - Level IV Technician will provide troubleshooting, maintenance, repair and material assessment of various types of Heavy Equipment electrical systems and components in accordance with OEM technical specifications in CONUS & OCONUS locations, as required.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Uses technical knowledge and experience to troubleshoot and identify causes for equipment/system failure to the component level.
  • Performs Lay-ups and related maintenance checks of Heavy Equipment in mid-level storage program.
  • Performs Start-ups and related maintenance checks of Heavy Equipment in mid-level storage program.
  • Ability to perform services in accordance with applicable OEM tech manuals and drawings.
  • Be able to read electrical drawings and schematics for generators, HMMWV, MTVRs, 15T trucks and Light Service Support Vehicles (LSSV) electrical systems.
  • Maintain and repair Heavy Equipment electrical systems and communications equipment to include but not limited to:
  • Vehicle headlights
  • Battery systems
  • VRC 110 Mobile Vehicle Mount
  • Blue Force Tracker
  • Vehicle Intercom 3 System
  • 120A Alternators
  • 80A Alternators
  • Battery Isolators
  • 35KW Generators
  • 45KW Generators
  • Bosch Electronic Control Module
  • General Motors Electronic Control Module
  • Caterpillar Electronic Control Module
  • Cummins Electronic Control Module
  • Allison Transmission Control Module
  • Ford Electronic Control Module
  • AM General Electronic Control Module
  • Travel requirement less than 25%

Minimum Qualifications:

  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ general experience in their respective trade and at least 3 consecutive years of experience repairing and troubleshooting the aforementioned Heavy Equipment electrical systems and communication equipment.
  • Comprehension & application of technical documentation, manuals, and drawings.
  • Knowledge of proper use of diagnostic equipment
  • Possess basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Possess organizational skills
  • Possess effective oral and written communication
  • Ability to work in a team environment and be flexible
  • Ability to travel overseas when required
  • Possess or ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance
  • Ability to obtain US Passport

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior military expeditionary equipment maintenance experience

ADA Notations:


  • Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a field environment for extended periods (and in some cases, areas of extreme heat and humidity such as Guam, Djibouti, Bahrain, etc).
  • Ability to be able to work in maintenance shop environment
  • Able to perform other duties as required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions.
  • Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States.
  • Job may require bending, stooping, lifting, and will be in an environment of low and high temperatures.
