Overview:
Health Care Assistant - Change Grow Live – Waltham Forest

Change Grow Live deliver specialist substance misuse engagement, assessment, referral, prescribing and recovery planning services in Waltham Forest. The project is responsible for delivering a combination of community-based services aimed at helping people recover from drug and alcohol problems. The service aims to enable their rapid entry into and retention in structured treatment and movement on to recovery services.
Responsibilities:

We are recruiting for a Health Care Assistant to join our team. They will have a focus on improving the health of service users through health assessments, blood borne virus screening, and vaccinations, supporting the safe provision of opiate replacement therapy, and the facilitation of community alcohol detoxification.

Alongside a focus on improvements in the health of service users, the successful applicants will also be a resource to colleagues who support service users with complex additional needs.

The successful applicants will be part of an established and dynamic service which aims to help people improve their lives. As well as providing direct interventions with service users, the successful applicant will contribute to the ongoing development of the nursing team in the service.

The post holder will be have or be working towards a recognised Health Care Assistant qualification. Candidates who do not hold such a qualification will be expected to undetake training when in post and obtain a Care Certificate. Relevant experience in the substance misuse field would be a benefit, but the willingness to embrace and develop this role will also be of importance.

The successful post holder will need to undertake a DBS check at Enhanced Level
