Job overview

We are looking for Health Care Assistants to join our expanding team to work in our newly Same Day Emergency Care Unit (SDEC) within the Emergency Village

SDEC is a fast-paced provision of same day care for emergency patients who would otherwise be admitted to hospital.

Patients presenting at hospital with relevant conditions can be rapidly assessed, diagnosed and treated without being admitted to a ward, and if clinically safe to do so, will go home the same day their care is provided.

Successful candidates will receive all required training.


Main duties of the job

You will be supported on the Unit by the wide range of the MDT members and a supportive preceptor-ship period.

You will need to be able to demonstrate :-

  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills
  • Aspire to deliver excellent standards of care
  • Be able to work collaboratively with all members of the MDT
  • Demonstrate a high level of compassion for patients and their relatives
  • You will be expected to carry out clinical skills including venepuncture and cannulation, ECG recording, monitor patients record vital signs.
  • Document patient care concisely on EPR.
  • Support the nursing, therapy and medical teams.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential criteria
  • NVQ level 2, BTEC, HNC, Diploma, Degree
  • Previous experience essential in acute hospital envirinment
