Job Summary:

The Guest Services Staff Educator is responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs for the Guest Services Staff and within a specific functional unit. The Guest Services Staff Educator works in conjunction with the Guest Services Leadership team to develop and integrate department specific programs including orientation of new employees, staff development efforts applying customer service, recommending continuing education (as needed), and other theories as appropriate. The Guest Services Staff Educator functions as an educational advisor to the Guest Services personnel and as a facilitator for their continued development

Licensure/Certifications:

None

Experience:

Requires knowledge of general JHH policies and procedures to include those of the Guest Services Representative, Patient Ambassador, Patient Representative, Guest Services Concierge programs acquired through six months to a year of experience on this job or equivalent. At least 2 years’ experience in health care or training environment preferred

Knowledge/Skills:

Demonstrates customer service knowledge and teaching experience in area of expertise. General computer knowledge and capability to use computers

Ability to document legibly using a writing instrument and be proficient in the general use of computers and technology. Demonstrates interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with all members of the Johns Hopkins Healthcare System. Ability to consistently greet and build positive relationships (patients, families, visitors, and staff) using JHH customer service standards. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in order to provide information to patients and healthcare personnel. Demonstrates the ability to self-start activities. Advanced communication skills
