Sell tickets for admission to Alcatraz Island. Direct guests and collect tickets. Perform Customer Service in a manner that enhances the Interpretive Experience of our guests and Respects the Planet.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide thoughtful, kind, dynamic customer service.
  • Accepts payment and makes change for ticket transactions. Issues receipts, refunds or change due to guests.
  • Keeps daily balance sheet of cash received sold.
  • Sells tickets from box office as a designated Cashier.
  • Resolve patron requests or problems in accordance with current policies and procedures.
  • Interfaces with both Central Reservations and Accounting Offices for smooth ticketing procedures and cash handling responsibilities.
  • Counts money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure the amounts are correct.
  • Sorts, counts, and wraps currency and coins.
  • Assists and manages guests in the queuing and boarding process of entrance lines to all of our vessels in the boarding areas.
  • Assists in the collection of admission tickets from guests.
  • Execution of responsible cash handling and proper point of sale processes is necessary for cash control and loss prevention, as required when assigned to point of sale and ticketing systems for processing transactions
  • Overseeing, preparing, handling and dropping cash banks responsibly as required when working with cash banks, point of sale and ticketing systems
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Answers questions concerning fares, routes, schedules, and reservations, and gives information concerning coming attractions.
  • Greet guests upon arriving at any of our locations.
  • Assists guests and answers questions in regards to Alcatraz Island and other local attractions.
  • Follows all National Park Service directives, and Alcatraz Island policies, to ensure all passengers, guests, and visitors to the Area have an Interpretive Experience.
  • Assist photo department during off loads with photo board: help guests find photos and assure all photos are paid for.
