Job Summary/Primary Role: This person will assist with grounds maintenance and be responsible for a variety of outdoor and indoor tasks. In the event of inclement weather, the grounds crew may be tasked with work inside the building such as cleaning, event set-up/tear down, kitchen assistance, etc. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, takes pride in his/her work, has high standards of cleanliness and safety, and sees this role as a ministry to the Lord, ABWE guests, missionaries, and staff.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lawn maintenance and mowing by use of proper equipment (mowers, trimmers, leaf blowers, shrub nippers, tree trimmers).
  • Weeding flower beds and other areas of the property.
  • Trimming trees and vegetation.
  • Spreading mulch, topsoil, stone, etc.
  • Assisting in executing projects for the landscape design team.
  • Assisting in the maintenance of outbuildings on the property.
  • Power washing decks, sidewalks, etc. as needed.
  • Assists in outdoor building projects and repairs.
  • Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned.

Qualifications: Ability to pass background check and all necessary clearances as mandated by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Education: High School Students are eligible to apply.

Minimum Prior Experience Required: previous experience in ground maintenance, equipment use, and janitorial services is preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment can range from moderate/high.
