Job Description
I.
Purpose
Coordinate activities associated with artwork and cylinder manufacturing to ensure that customer and print specifications are achieved in a timely manner in accordance with customer requirements and production planning.
II.
Duties
Support Environmental Health & Safety for the facility, following all current policies and procedures and making an effort to improve the Environmental Health and Safety performance of our facility.
Supports EHS performance tracking and trending analysis
Supports VOC tracking for air permit requirements
EHS documentation management
Maintains, update, and disseminate graphics information specific to Amcor printing. Partners with planning to ensure that all new graphics are ordered in a timely fashion to support manufacturing timelines. Participates in production scheduling meetings and act as a liaison between Ashevville plant, Amcor Graphics and or customers to plan how artwork will be produced in terms of colors, line screen, and gradients while ensuring graphics are fit for use in support of equipment/process capabilities Reviews graphic design reproduction order GSR/PRT according to externally provided artwork and internal print specifications. Request capital funding for purchasing of new bases. Places rotogravure base orders with rotogravure base contractors according to internal timelines. Confirms receipt of Art Work (PDF's etc.), and provides notification internally as necessary. Coordinates logistics of press approvals/print trials with all related parties inclusive of customer representatives, production planning group and pre-press contractors. Leads the Press Approval/Print Trial event internally and externally. Maintains/handles information regarding the overall timeline of graphics process from order inception to manufacture. Supports projects aimed at improving manufacturing/product capabilities. Actively participates in WCOM teams. Compiles production packet to support internal process flow. Verifies & monitors in-house rotogravure base obsolete inventory. Any other duties assigned as temporary or routine related to their job description. Communicate to suppliers during non-routine hours cylinder base issues. Receive calls during non-routine hours from the plant with graphic concerns. General team support:
Back up P-Card holder for general / MRO purchasing
Participation in Plant Profit Team
HR support in co-worker on boarding and document management
Supports and coordinate plants visits such as:
First article press approvals
Corporate team reviews
Customer quality audits

Knowledge
1.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of Rotogravure Printing specifically related to Artwork, Engravings, Platemaking and Prepress.
  • Detail-Oriented and organized.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships
  • Effective oral and written communication skills working with vendors, in-house graphics, and customers.
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Computer skills; MS Word; Excel
  • Ability to type, file and enter data
  • Communication skills to efficiently communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Able to work overtime on planned or short-notice, to complete given projects, or to respond to surges, seasonal or otherwise, in business volume.

  • Equivalent; Associates or vocational degree desirable, 3 to 5 years in a manufacturing environment and graphic administration. (preferably Rotogravure Printing)

Essential Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 55 lbs
  • Ability to push/pull 20-55 lbs
  • Continuous standing and walking
  • Exposure to noise above 85 decibels
  • Exposure to solvent odors and odors created in the melting process of manufacturing plastic films
  • The employee is required to use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hand and arms.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
