Gardner White Furniture & Mattress seeks a talented Graphic Designer to add to our in-house advertising team. You will be working on a variety of projects within the realm of physical print media. We are looking for someone who is experienced in design and production of retail marketing materials, including broadsheet inserts, direct mail, and retail catalogs. This position is on-site at our headquarters in Warren, but we are open to hybrid work as well.

The team is small (but mighty!), so strong teamwork and time management skills are essential. This role will report to the Director of Advertising.

Responsibilities Include:

• Create new design solutions to a variety of print formats, including broadsheet inserts, direct mail, and retail catalogs
• Working with the merchandising team to get product prices and information for print pieces
• Finalize existing layouts, make copy/art changes, quality-check and ensure files are press-ready
• Preparing and optimizing files for print and digital use
• Proofing work for accuracy

Required Skills:

• 2+ years in-house or agency experience creating direct mail and broadsheet inserts with a focus on retail marketing
• Fully proficient with Adobe CC – Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign
• Deep understanding of typography and color
• Know the different requirements for print vs. digital design
• Experience creating press-ready files for production
• Able to juggle multiple projects, meet deadlines, and self-check work for typos, copy changes, brand standards, etc.
• Can receive creative feedback and implement changes
• Portfolio showcasing relevant experience

Nice to Have:

• Creative copywriting ability
• Experience in the furniture/mattress industry
