As a Graphic Designer on the Kellogg’s Brand Design Team, you’ll be creating visual concepts to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, or captivate the consumers who enjoy our products. You will be working on our iconic cereal brands, such as Frosted Flakes, Froot Loops, & Mini Wheats, and designing packaging for new products, formats and retail channels. You will be responsible for translating design briefs into compelling visual stories and for delivering design excellence that drive our category brands forward.

HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Packaging Design Expert – You will be designing packaging for new products, formats and retail channels as well as developing concepts for innovation meetings with buyers such as Walmart, Kroger and Target. You must be able to extend existing design systems and develop new creative directions. A strong understanding of preparing artwork files for production is a necessary technical skill for success in this role.
  • Creativity & Art Direction– You may be asked to create illustrations or retouching photography for packaging, as well as art direct illustrators and photographers as we create new design elements for the brand. A good sense of typography is also important for delivering messages on pack.
  • Brand Mastery A strategic mindset for creative work that builds upon the brand foundations and strengthens our brands in an overly competitive market is key. You will need to have a clear understanding of adapting brand assets for packaging, activating from brand book and design principles to drive a balance of brand consistency and break-through in the marketplace.
  • Business Skills – You need to be a time management pro, juggling multiple projects and ensuring all deadlines are met. Communication skills are imperative to present project work, communicate key messages and deliver design rationale. You will be working directly with many different marketers, so interpersonal skills and building relationships will be important.


YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS

  • Degree in graphic design or communication arts, with experience of packaging design and a thorough understanding of design principles and best practices, as well as emerging trends.
  • 5-6 years minimum packaging design experience, preferably with a design agency or in-house corporate design team
  • Must be proficient in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Microsoft Office applications, with ability to quickly learn new programs as needed.
  • Creative thinker that can produce innovative, high-quality and accurate work that can be translated to wide range of media, print, digital and POS.
  • Exceptional communication, project-management, and time management skills.
  • Independent, self-starter, and innovative thinker with the ability to see the big picture, while also being able to drive projects from development to completion
  • Possess a positive, can-do attitude and ability to provide excellent client service.
