Job Summary
A Graduate Research Assistant is needed to assist with the Patient-Oriented and Population Sciences Shared Resource Facility (SRF) at Markey Cancer Center. This position will require experience with clinical research methods, survey research methods and select scientific literatures (e.g., quality of life, health behavior performance, health services, cancer survivorship, behavioral and psychosocial intervention). Experience with qualitative research methods, including thematic analysis, is a plus. The person in this position will be responsible for contributing to abstracts, presentations, and peer-reviewed manuscripts under the supervision and mentorship of the SRF Director.

This position will have a fully on-site work arrangement.

This position has been identified as supporting UK HealthCare which receives funding from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Therefore, all individuals hired into this position must comply with the federal CMS mandate issued in March of 2022. This mandate requires all new hires to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or obtain an approved medical or religious exemption as a condition of employment. Start of employment cannot occur until two weeks after receiving the full COVID-19 vaccination series or upon obtaining an approved exemption. Only vaccines approved by the World Health Organization can be accepted.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
This position requires advanced skills in use of several Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) as well as experience with quantitative and qualitative data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, NVivo) and survey/database tools (e.g., REDCap, Qualtrics). This position would benefit from someone who has good, working knowledge of cancer prevention and control science. Strong oral and written communication skills are required. The ability to work well semi-independently while still contribute to a multidisciplinary team is preferred.
