Pennoni is hiring! In particular, we are looking for a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer to join our team on a full-time, direct basis at our office in Haddon Heights, NJ.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist Engineers (Staff & Senior-level) with the execution of multiple concurrent geotechnical projects.
  • Work with internal clients (Staff Engineers, Geologists, etc.) while also coordinating efforts with external customers (clients, drilling subcontractors, etc.) to ensure effective workflow.
  • Working with Field staff as well as coordinating with clients & contractors during construction.
  • Perform various site visits.
  • Assist with / perform geotechnical engineering investigations; this involves preparing reports and developing recommendations.
  • Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed.

Basic Requirement:

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering-oriented discipline (preferably a BS in Civil, Geotechnical, or Structural Engineering).

This person will be expected to work regularly in the field, so they will be required to possess a Valid Driver's License as well as Reliable Transportation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • FE / EIT.
  • Basic Geotechnical Engineering experience.
  • Professional experience working on construction projects; ideally, this person is capable of overseeing field-based construction inspection operations.
  • Experience with observing and documenting construction activities (e.g.: concrete placement, deep & shallow foundation construction, earthwork, infiltration testing, basic survey & layout activity, test pits, test borings, etc.).
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with minimal supervision while displaying a positive attitude.
  • Excellent organizational skills; this person will be expected to multi-task and prioritize multiple assignments effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
