Strategy&

PwC’s Strategy& team is a market-leading consulting practice consisting of approximately 400 consultants in London, and also benefits from the broad expertise and international reach of the wider PwC and Strategy& networks. Strategy& can offer you a career with diverse and challenging assignments - our teams work with a wide variety of UK, European and Global corporate clients (from large consumer goods companies, online retailers, start-ups and FinTechs to charities, government departments and the public sector) and investors (private equity and investment funds). We deliver a mix of strategy consulting projects, addressing key CEO questions on issues such as growth strategy, market entry, mergers and acquisitions and value creation. We evaluate each company’s unique proposition and market positioning, identifying both innovative opportunities for growth and risk areas that need to be addressed.

Programme

Our graduate training programme is underpinned by a development framework that broadens and deepens your knowledge. You'll learn from hands-on coaching and an outstanding variety of work, picking up business, personal and technical skills you can use across the network, and throughout your career.

What you'll do

Our Associates are the cornerstone of our team, and play an active role in client engagements from day one. You’ll need to exercise commercial awareness, analytical and interpersonal skills in your day-to-day work. Over time, you’ll build the confidence and credibility to present your opinions to clients and senior stakeholders.
Typical responsibilities include:

  • Building hypotheses and working as part of a team to address client questions
  • Identifying data sources and collecting, interpreting and analysing data
  • Conducting interviews and deriving insight from qualitative inputs
  • Presenting findings to team members, clients and other senior stakeholders
  • Participating in Strategy&-wide team events and industry specific lunch-and-learns and pipeline meetings

You will get a place in one of our two market-winning teams - Strategy& Deals or Corporate Strategy. Strategy& Deals work with a wide variety of corporate clients and investors, with a mix of transaction-related work (e.g. commercial due diligence, pre- and post-deal value creation) as well as wider strategy development (e.g. market entry, sustainability strategy). Our corporate strategy team works with leading corporate clients and governments to create custom business strategies that address challenges faced by business leaders (market entry, growth strategy, target operating model and more).

What you'll gain

Joining Strategy& as an Associate, you will have the opportunity to work with senior clients in some of the world’s largest organisations. You'll be encouraged to develop your entrepreneurial mindset, valued when you challenge conventional assumptions and heard during thoughtful debate. Through our diversity of thought and engaging debate, we deliver innovative, fresh and intelligent solutions to our clients' toughest problems.

From day one you’ll work on interesting and varied strategic assignments. We will help you to make sure you continue to maximise your potential by leveraging world-class learning and development programmes that give you continuous support while you learn on-the-job and develop your personal strengths.

What you'll need

We are looking for the Strategists of the Future. We seek candidates who are passionate about solving business problems, proactive, and have the potential to learn and grow within our firm.

Specifically, you will need:
To have achieved or be on track to pass an undergraduate degree or above in any subject. We determine whether you're on course to pass based on the grades you achieved in your last completed year of academic study
Relevant work experience and/or internships, demonstrating transferable skills to consulting (e.g. problem solving, organisation, communication skills)
Leadership roles and extracurricular activities such as voluntary work, sporting attainment, musical accomplishment and entrepreneurial interests
Business-level fluency in English

We’d recommend you make an ‘open’ application to both teams. However, if you have a preference and you'd like to focus on joining a particular team, you’ll have the opportunity to state this in your application and tailor your cover letter.

Deadlines

Application deadline is 00:01 on the 24th October 2022 (in other words, your application must be made by end of day on the 23rd October 2022)
