If you like being outside and working in an active environment, then this is the job for you. Past golf course or agronomy employment experience is not required, but preferred. We will train you in all tasks that you will be expected to complete and there is room for promotion within the department. Some daily tasks include running heavy mowers, assisting with irrigation repair, weed-eating, tree trimming, and other various tasks around the golf course and clubhouse.

The Golf Club at North Hampton, located in Fernandina Beach, FL, is a semi-private golf with a Scottish links style. The golf course was designed by renowned golfer and architect, Arnold Palmer and was opened for play 2001. It is widely considered to be one of the most challenging and well-conditioned courses in Northeast Florida. We are looking for Golf Course Maintenance Staff members to join our team starting immediately. Applicant must be able to work at least one weekend (Saturday or Sunday) morning 4 hour shift.

Greens Staff members are expected to carry out golf course and landscape maintenance tasks including:.

• Cut and trim golf course greens, tees, fairways and roughs.

• Assists with watering the roughs.

• Cuts grass and trims weeds using hand mower or power driven lawn mower, weed trimmer and brush cutter.

• Applies mulch or pine straw to designated areas.

• Pulls weeds around bushes, trees and flower beds.

• Performs general landscape maintenance using hand held equipment.

• Rakes and maintains sand bunkers.

• Operates small machinery to assist with edging, trimming and mowing.

• Involved with tasks related to course detail.

• Assists with golf course set up procedures.

• Operates utility vehicles for hauling material and removing debris.

• Performs general labor and cleaning related to golf course maintenance equipment.

• Delivers drinking water on course.

• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance

• Regular & reliable attendance

Physical Demands: The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body; be able to reach overhead; be able to work in various positions, including stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time; be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks and is frequently able to lift 50 pounds of weight through the work day and occasionally lifts up to 100 pounds. Employee is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions, chemicals, pesticides, gasoline, vibration, mechanical hazards and electrical hazards.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
