We are looking for a detail-oriented, research-minded geospatial analyst to join our dynamic team. The geospatial analyst will be responsible for analyzing geographical data, working collaboratively with other staff members, and communicating GIS concepts to non-GIS users.

To be successful as a geospatial analyst, you should be prepared to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment. A top-notch geospatial analyst should have excellent research, collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Geospatial Analyst Responsibilities:

  • Gathering, analyzing, and storing geospatial data according to the clients' requirements.
  • Using the proper devices and software tools to analyze geographical objects under observation.
  • Extracting relevant information from the gathered geospatial data and applying analytical methods to solve problems related to residential and commercial consturction
  • Analyzing geographical for surveying work
  • Tracking changes to the landscape as well as damages that have occurred due to natural disasters to understand Earth's overall environmental condition.
  • Dividing gathered geospatial data into various data sets to suit the needs of our various clients.
  • Writing reports on your geospatial analysis findings.
  • Presenting the relevant information in an understandable way in various meetings and presentations.
  • Researching and developing geospatial products for the market and internal use.
  • Performing geo-coding for further use in geographic information systems.
  • Perform classification, feature extraction and mapping from processed LIDAR data
  • Work with point cloud data collected by airborne and/or mobile methods
  • Extract 2d and 3d information from the data and generate CAD mapping for delivery
  • Meet data quality and production rate standards
  • Frequently requires sitting for extended periods of time, using hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
  • Utilize close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and adjust focus to use computer screen
  • Other duties as assigned

Required

  • A bachelor's degree in geographic information systems or a related field; master's degree preferred.
  • Must be open to obtaining Part 107 Remote Pilot Rating
  • Work experience in cartography or drafting.
  • Geospatial Analysts must have AutoCAD, ArcGIS Pro, Trimble Business Center experience
  • Experience in working with engineering, surveying, construction data
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced working knowledge of geospatial devices and software tools.
  • Strong mathematics, computer, and design skills.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Minimum 1 year experience with software tools and packages for Engineering or GIS such as ESRI, AutoCAD, Micro-station, Virtual Geomatics, Kubit plantsense, Revit or other similar 3D mapping software packages
  • Excellent computer skills are required
  • Experience working with LIDAR data is helpful but no required
  • Must have the desire to learn new technologies, software, hardware, methodologies and assist the LIDAR team to operate with maximum efficiency
  • Must demonstrate energy, drive and passion for the LIDAR division to succeed
  • pay strict attention to details and always be focused on maximizing their production while maintaining quality
  • Must work well with others, be team oriented, helpful and a good problem solver
  • Ability to read, write and correspond clearly and concisely
  • Ability to read, understand and apply technical information, form procedure manuals, written and verbal instruction, guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Ability to understand 3D surface modeling and 3D visualization concepts
  • Ability to identify and clearly communicate problems, issues with data, or instructions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a multiple variables in situations where limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in various formats ( written, oral, diagram, schedule form, etc.)
  • May or may not require a valid drivers license and an acceptable motor vehicle record
