The mission of Generation SERVE is to engage children in volunteerism and empower them to make a difference in their communities. Towards this goal, we promote Family Volunteer events at nonprofits throughout the Austin Community. AmeriCorps members serving with Generation SERVE join a national service team that will greatly expand and enhance current Generation SERVE programs. All AmeriCorps service is focused on increasing the impact of the Volunteer Events: not only the impact in the community, but also the impact on the volunteers participating. Please apply if you are interested in one of the following positions: • Service Learning Specialist The Service Learning Specialist will develop and lead weekend and evening programs that not only have families volunteering, but engaged in learning and dialogue around important conversations. • Social Media Coordinator The Social Media Coordinator will work closely with staff to finesse and deliver a social media communications program that engages families, promotes partners, inspires partners, and highlights Generation SERVE as the premiere organization for family volunteering. • Weekend Activity Coordinator This is a Friday to Monday position. The Weekend Activity Coordinator is responsible for all of the inventorying, prepping, and planning necessary for the volunteer projects. In addition, they are the point of contact each weekend for all activity leads and families. More information is available during the interview process.
