Summary/Objective:

The General Manager (GM) is responsible for managing and leading fabrication manufacturing department group leaders, team leaders, and team members for assigned areas/shift to ensure safety, quality, positive work environment, customer requirements, and manufacturing needs are met. Provide leadership and motivation to direct reports in manufacturing system that emphasizes safety, quality, customer satisfaction, accuracy, productivity, cost reduction, housekeeping, efficiency, training, teamwork, and morale.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Working Conditions:
  • Primarily working indoors, office environment.

Qualifications:
  • Preferred college degree, MBA is a plus.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Manufacturing / Industry experience of at least 5 years
  • Management / Leadership experience of at least 5 years

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for all facets of the business including full ownership of the P&L statement.
  • Review and track Manufacturing Key Performance Indicators (KPI) including leading problem solving for negative trends or goals not met.
  • Must be metric driven and ensure operations are running effectively including safety, quality, delivery/service, value/productivity/cost, innovation, engagement, top-line growth, and personnel development.
  • Conduct daily audits to ensure procedures for safety, quality, equipment, and training are being followed; takes corrective as needed.
  • Implement short- and long-term corrective actions for problems.
  • Ensure all departmental procedures are compliant with quality and environmental management systems and programs.
  • Develops relationships with customers and sales team.
  • Leads the AGM and Plant Manager in developing, planning, and maintaining the budget including making adjustments to achieve targets.
  • Lead, facilitate, and empower appropriate personnel to problem solve and create more robust processes, products, and drive CI throughout the business.
  • Own and role model Lippert core values to develop and transform the culture.
  • Develops and maintains positive team member relations centered on mutual trust, dignity, respect, fairness, consistency, two-way communication, teamwork, and harmony.
  • Ensures development of a strong #2, leadership team, team leaders, and team members through performance evaluation, development of training plans, feedback, coaching, corrective action, and cascade training.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has direct reports upon hiring.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling. The team member may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position, and the expected work hours are decided by the hiring manager.

Travel:

Travel will be as needed but will be primarily local and during the business day.
