The right candidate for this position MUST be administratively organized, good with people, prioritize cleanliness and organization, and like to make hay when the sun shines. We are a busy Seasonal restaurant, with periods of very high volume. We are actively involved in the community and participate in various events around town.


JOB DESCRIPTION – GENERAL MANAGER

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The General Manager works to create an environment where each and every guest thinks “This. This is the only place in the world I want to be eating right now.”

Supervise all aspects of setup, cleanliness, organization, training and service to ensure an exceptional guest experience. Direct all front of house service personnel including floor managers and service staff. Assure Destination Hospitality’s cultural values and quality standards are adhered to at all times. Contribute to the development of Destination Hospitality’s quality of service, position in the market, and expansion.


TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

DINING ROOM, PERSONNEL, AND GUEST MANAGEMENT Ensure that all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training programs are followed and completed on a timely basis. Uphold DH standards of service, quality, facility appearance, cleanliness and sanitation through training of employees. Constantly develop staff in food knowledge and service. Create a positive, productive work environment. Provide consistent genuine hospitality with heart and style. Interview, hire, evaluate, reward, and discipline dining personnel. Orientate, motivate, train, and educate all dining personnel in Destination Hospitality’s policies, procedures, and rules. Praise in public, criticize behind closed doors, give constructive criticism all the time. Constantly evaluate and take measures to increase service ability and knowledge of all staff. Resolve personnel problems, perform disciplinary guidance when necessary, make hiring and termination decisions and evaluate employee performance. Know and understand all DH policies regarding personnel. Administer prompt, fair and consistent disciplinary guidance for any violation of DH policy. Effectively supervise floor staff to ensure grooming and appearance standards, professional service standards and guest satisfaction during hours of operation. Control daily labor costs by cutting labor when necessary. Conduct daily line up meetings. Educate front of the house personnel in product awareness and cultivate long-term service knowledge.


Build rapport with Destination Hospitality’s guests and ensure an enjoyable and memorable experience. Investigate and resolve guest complaints. Develop and manage customer files in Opentable. Update daily menus both in printed and electronic formats. Responsible for cleanliness and repair of dining areas and office. Work closely and with all DH leadership. Establish and always promote open lines of communication between front of the house and back of the house. Establish role as a spokesperson for the restaurant within the community and with Destination Hospitality’s guests. Maintain knowledge of local competition and general industry trends. Attend restaurant association meetings if applicable. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations and requirements. Maintain TIPS certification. Contribute to service by being present on the floor and supporting the team in whatever capacity is necessary. Perform any and all duties as assigned.


FINANCIALS AND ADMINISTRATION: Review financial overviews, sales, product mixes and activity reports on Aloha and Aloha Insight and monitor productivity and cost of goods and labor goal achievements. Identify and address areas where costs can be reduced and operations streamlined. Monitor pricing levels and adjust according to market demand and product cost. Generate, review, and approve all staff schedules for each following week 5 days before schedule start. Post schedules on Homebase. Basic Homebase fluency is required. Review and approve/disapprove any requests for staff vacation/schedule requests. Review all shift change requests. Check staff time punches and submit accurate and timely payroll reports. Communicate with service team and plan for all special events and large parties. Asses staffing levels and actively recruit staff. Attend and contribute to monthly manager meetings. Communicate special dates and leadership vacation requests on Google calendar. Arrange for maintenance and repairs, coordinate services such as landscaping, beer/soda service and product delivery, cleaning services etc. Inventory control and product ordering, receiving and tracking. Purchasing of equipment and supplies. Manage staff safety procedures with the Chef de Cuisine and Director of Operations to minimize work related injuries.


Complete and submit all necessary paperwork including but not limited to new hire paperwork, payroll reports, invoices and purchase receipts, worker’s comp forms, disciplinary communications etc. Understand OpenTable and maintain basic operational knowledge of parameter design. Understand how to develop and design the POS system. Troubleshoot basic problems and schedule service if POS is not working correctly.


COMPENSATION

$65,000 - $85,000 annually depending on experience, skills, and location budget.

Bonus structure based on cost of goods, labor goals and net profit. This bonus program, if met, will allow you to earn up to an additional $5,000 seasonally.

Management benefits package which includes the following: Wellness benefit reimbursement of $1000 per year for approved wellness related uses. Health Insurance benefit contribution of $250 per person, per month. This amount is pre-tax and is contributed to your overall individual monthly premium (currently $558 total). You will be eligible to join 60 days after the first of the month you were hired in. Two weeks paid vacation year 1, three weeks each year following. Paid Sick Days Tuition reimbursement for pre-approved, industry related coursework up to $1k per year Eligible for our group travel experiences. Colorado Secure Savings Program coming soon.
