Full Stack Developer – Lanham, Maryland

The Full Stack Developer will be an integral part of Altumint’s Information Technology Team. The candidate will work directly for the Chief Technology Officer. The ideal candidate will have the ability to understand and continue the development of existing programs written in PHP, follow the Model, View, and Controller (MVC) architectural pattern, and develop API’s for new and existing applications. The candidate will be also expected to troubleshoot and document their work. This position is full-time temp to perm.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Understand and continue the development of existing programs written in PHP
• Follow the Model, View, and Controller (MVC) architectural pattern
• Develop API’s for new and existing applications
• Troubleshoot and document work

REQUIREMENTS:

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, or other relevant field required. Equivalent experience can be substituted for educational requirement
• Demonstrated ability to maintain existing backend code
• Capable of upgrading older PHP 5 code to PHP 8
• Capable of adding new features to an existing PHP application
• Capable or writing code that will pass regular security audits
• 2+ years hands-on experience with PHP and MySQL databases
• Working understanding of HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, and at least one modern frontend framework (e.g., Angular, React, Node.js, etc.)
• Demonstrated ability to support existing programs written in the Model, View, and Controller (MVC) architectural pattern
• Demonstrated ability to finish tasks on time with high quality coding
• Must be fast learner with strong analytical skills

PREFERABLE:

• Capable of using Python on the backend and in general
• Comfortable working and deploying under Linux
• Comfortable using GitLab
• Experience developing responsive web and mobile applications
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Great attention to detail and analytical mindset

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
