THE ROLE

Thrive Market is looking for a Site Director to support our Fulfillment Center in Batesville, Indiana.
Our Site Directors are on the floor leading teams as large as 400+ associates. They must exude positive energy and motivate others with complete responsibility for all areas of the fulfillment operation while driving the development, implementation and execution of key operations processes and controls to ensure compliance within company policies and procedures. The Site Director leads employee initiatives to create and promote an environment where Thrive associates are involved, empowered, and committed to the service of our Members, always maintaining the “Member First” mentality.

As the site director you will be responsible for all areas of a multi-shift Fulfillment and Distribution center. The Site Director will provide strategic, operational, and developmental leadership while achieving key service levels, safety, quality, cost, and engagement performance targets. Responsibilities include building out a high performance team across all areas of the operation, including, Inbound Operations, Outbound Operations, Inventory Control and Quality Assurance, while maintaining a “safety first” and member centric culture.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Fulfillment Operation:
  • Lead all elements of the operation, including setting shift standards, labor planning, cross-departmental communication, training and operational efficiency targets
  • Supports all safety programs and OSHA compliance to ensure a safe and secure work environment for all Thrivers
  • Acts as the primary information source for the team, maintaining compliance and consistency to enhance team productivity, quality, safety and teamwork
  • Drives the fulfillment operation strategy to ensure that Thrivers are actively engaged, motivated and talented
  • Ensures team follows core performance standards and established processes in order to drive a consistent experience for the member
  • Drives the planning and execution of fulfillment operation goals and company continuous improvement initiatives Sets and communicates goals related to outbound/inbound operations and member experience initiatives for supervisors

  • Developing and Retaining Talent:
  • Drives the development of supervisors and Thrivers; Serves as the subject matter expert on the proper way to coach, counsel and develop fulfillment Thrivers
  • Owns inbound/outbound operation productivity hours and other payroll functions to ensure Thrivers are productive and aligned with Thrive Market values
  • Consistently coaches and develops supervisors to enhance member experience and fulfillment operations
  • Sources and screens talent and proactively partners with the People Operations team to deliver a consistent and effective hiring process

  • Business Performance:
  • Proactively partners with supervisors to review and analyze fulfillment operation reports and quickly identify and prioritize areas of opportunity to determine the root cause of the opportunity, and provide coaching to supervisors in setting direction to achieve all performance standards
  • Sets clear expectations and goals for self and team; inspires personal accountability for demonstrating behaviors that support Thrive Market brand promise and mission; role models strong performance for the team.

  • Performance Standards:
  • Consistently meets established performance standards for the role, including (but not limited to) fulfillment operation, member experience, team productivity, continuous improvement, and safety
  • Establish and maintain effective operational and safety standards, protocols, internal controls and compliance with both regulatory and company standards


QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10-15+ years of experience in leading large cross functional leadership teams in e-commerce fulfillment, sortation, manufacturing or distribution/warehousing operations
  • Leadership experience to build and maintain a High Performing team including the proven ability to lead others through influence and direct authority
  • Able to plan, organize and execute the startup of the fulfillment operation, including the management of multiple projects with competing demands and deadlines
  • Exemplify teamwork, interacting with employees of all levels of the organization
  • Have the ability to plan and coordinate the startup
  • Has great attention to detail

  • General FC knowledge to include: Site operations including physical goods receiving, picking / packing, inventory control and overall throughput in a high velocity direct-to-consumer fulfillment operations environment, maintenance, engineering, HR and People Operations, people leadership skills, custodial, recycle / zero waste, safety and workers compensation
  • Ability to walk/stand for extended periods of time in warehouse setting
  • Must be willing to be on-call at all times
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Exceptional member customer service skills required
  • Must be self-directed and self-motivated with desire to understand and learn all facets of the job
  • Open to change and ability to help us design the role for the future
