COMMUNITY ACTION PROGRAM BELKNAP-MERRIMACK COUNTIES, INC. (CAPBM) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing assistance for the reduction of poverty, the revitalization of low-income communities, and the empowerment of low-income families and individuals to become or remain financially and socially independent.


Program:
The Fuel Assistance Program provides low-income households with assistance for heating their homes in the winter months.


We are looking for a full-time Fuel Assistance Program Manager to join our team right now! This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of the Fuel Assistance Program (FAP). We are looking for a strong professional who is responsible, organized and enjoys working on a team in a busy office environment.

This role is responsible for regular communication, reporting, and processing duties related to the fuel assistance program. Candidates should have solid organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to understand and interpret complex program policies and procedures. Comfort with technology, a sense of humor, and the ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and lead are also key qualities.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of the Fuel Assistance Program.
  • Assist in the certification and processing of incoming FAP/EAP applications, including vendor and client notification.
  • Communicate regularly, clearly, and in a professional manner with clients, intake and certifier staff, and vendors.
  • Maintain FAP/EAP applications and supporting documentation in an organized, accessible manner for monitoring and auditing purposes.
  • Work collaboratively with agency Fiscal Department on FAP payment process.
  • Manages distribution of FAP Program information, modifications, and procedure manual information to staff and assist with training and ongoing guidance for staff
  • Prepares required FAP statistical and other reports as prescribed by FAP requirements.

Hours: This is a full-time position, 37.5 hours a week. Hours are Monday-Friday 8:30 am-4:30 pm.

Requirements:
  • At least 3 years of prior related experience
  • High school education or equivalent required; post-secondary degree preferred
  • Prior experience working in a Fuel Assistance Program is preferred
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and management skills
  • Ability to prioritize, problem solve, and make well-reasoned decisions
  • Proficient computer skills and ability to learn and use applicable software
  • Ability to multitask in a busy office environment
  • A strong desire to assist others and work well within a team environment
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable mode of transportation and maintain adequate insurance coverage as travel throughout the assigned region may occasionally be required.
