General Summary
The cashier position is responsible for providing customers with fast and friendly customer service at the cash register. Other responsibilities may include managing shelves and inventory along with maintaining the overall appearance and cleanliness of the store.
Essential Duties:
- Customer Service:
- Project a positive representation of Andy’s Ace Hardware.
- Greet customer entering and throughout the store.
- Thanking customers by name whenever possible as they are leaving the store.
- Project a friendly outgoing demeanor and work well with customer and fellow associates.
- Communicates well with managers and fellow associates.
- Assist in pricing, marking, and stocking of merchandise.
- Register Operations:
- Follow all cash register procedures.
- Be knowledgeable of all current and upcoming promotions.
- Participate in store meeting and huddles.
- Front End Appearance and Upkeep:
- Keep the front end, including checkout area and entrance doors neat and clean at all times.
- Assist with keeping impulse counter merchandise stock and faced at all times.
- Ensure that carts & baskets are ready for customer.
- Preform regular cleaning of counter surfaces, store equipment, and all
