The SpringHill Suites by Marriott Oakland Airport is seeking a dynamic candidate experienced in Fosse to assist management during daily guest service operations. A Front Desk Manager is responsible for managing the first impressions of our guests, and therefore, must perform the following responsibilities and tasks to the highest standards:

  • This position requires a flexible schedule and candidate must be available to work any shift needed.
  • Prepare weekly schedule for a staff of up to 25
  • Manage all costs, including labor and supplies
  • Train, supervise and support front office staff (guest service agents and drivers)
  • Participates in the selection of front office personnel
  • Schedule shifts according to hotel occupancy and work flow
  • Supervise the efficient operations of reception including check in/out procedures
  • Support team members in handling guest requests and ensures a positive outcome is achieved
  • Ensure that the GM are kept fully aware of any relevant feedback from guests and/or other departments
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service at all times
  • Understand thoroughly all hotel room categories, room rates, packages, promotions and other general product knowledge necessary to perform daily duties
  • Respond and resolve all guest complaints in a timely fashion, including GXP
  • Reconcile all A/R accounts in a timely manner
  • Monitor the appearance, standards and performance of the front office team with an emphasis on training and teamwork
  • Maximize room occupancy and use up-selling techniques to promote hotel services and facilities
  • Demonstrate positive leadership characteristics which will inspire team members to exceed standards
  • Act in accordance with fire, health and safety regulations and follow the correct procedures when required
  • Follow and adhere to company brand standards
  • Assist other departments whenever necessary and maintain good working relationships with team members
  • To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, skills and values that follow:
  • Desire to progress within the hospitality industry
  • Positive attitude and good communication skills
  • Previous supervisory experience in the hotel industry
  • Previous experience with Marriott brand hotel and FOSSE property management system

Job Requirements:

  • Successful history as a Guest Service Supervisor or related hospitality experience
  • Flexible Schedule
  • Task-driven individual
  • Experience with Marriott reservations software, FOSSE, preferred
  • Understanding of how travel planning websites operate, like Booking.com, Expedia, TripAdvisor
  • Customer service attitude
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Degree in Hospitality management is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
