Silkline is a pre-seed supply chain tech startup backed by top venture investors. The mission is to become the supply chain operating system for the $44.5T global manufacturing industry by helping businesses understand their supply networks and adapt to disruption. Isaac Chambers (https://www.linkedin.com/in/isaacmchambers/), the founder, is a 3x founder and started his career at Deloitte Consulting focusing on supply chain & manufacturing operations for the aerospace & defense sector.

The Opportunity

As the founding engineer, you will set the technical direction for early builds of the product. You'll be an essential part of early product development iterations to help us develop a highly scalable, efficient product with great UI/UX. You will own and lead the architectural roadmap that will lay the foundation for the Silkline platform. As we scale, your technical leadership will be a key factor in supporting and growing our engineering and product teams.

You need to be both strategic and tactical. We are looking for a builder to take us from product specs and built out front-end components, to an enterprise-ready application. We are also looking for a self-starter – someone who is not afraid to get their hands dirty and rapidly iterate on prototypes early in the development lifecycle.

We are uniquely positioned to work with several large manufacturers as our anchor customers. Now, we need an engineer that can help build the platform that will fundamentally change and improve supply chain networks.

Looking back on your first 12 months at Silkline, you will have...

• Built and led the delivery of the early versions of the Silkline platform
• Worked closely with initial customers to understand their needs and support them to ensure the success of their pilot with the Silkline platform
• Worked with the team to think through business strategy and evolution
• Influenced new product and feature design while defining a long-term technical strategy aligned with industry best practices
• Designed and implemented platform integrations with outside APIs, partners, and cloud infrastructure

What you bring to Silkline

• 5+ years building across front-end and back-end
• Startup and/or agency experience (bonus if in supply chain)
• Early-stage product experience building from 0 to 1
• Ability to quickly build out various API integrations
• Experience working with cross-functional and non-technical business stakeholders and partners
• Experience leading and managing engineering projects and teams
• Ideally, experience working with enterprise ERP systems, ERP integrations, enterprise data warehouses/architecture, and Next.js
