Performance Foodservice, PFG's broadline distributor, maintains a unique relationship with a variety of local customers, including independent restaurants and hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries. A team of sales reps, chefs, consultants and other experts builds close relationships with each customer, providing advice on improving operations, menu development, product selection and operational strategies. The Performance Foodservice team delivers delicious food, but also goes above and beyond to help independent restaurant owners achieve their dreams.

Job Description

Position Summary:

As an Area Manager, you are responsible for maintaining and expanding a portfolio of customers to maximize sales and profits of foodservice products and value-added services. The qualified candidate must be a strategic thinker and innovative planner that can identify business opportunities, build positive customer relations and maintain account relationships while seeking and cultivating new accounts.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Planning and organizing schedules to call on prospective new accounts
  • Regularly call on existing and potential customers
  • Identify customer needs and work to satisfy them, monitor sales volumes, understand customer's needs to recommend products and solutions.
  • Promote programs and items, collect customer payments; manage pricing and monitor credit term compliance.
  • Be available for emergency deliveries to customers
  • Other projects or duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Experience: 6-12 months; some sales/marketing and/or restaurant experience

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Bachelors

Experience: 1-2 years; Foodservice sales/marketing and/or restaurant experience
