CAPBM is looking for a professional, friendly and reliable person who wants to make a difference in the lives of older individuals. The Food Delivery Driver* is responsible for the stock room, delivery van, and delivery of food and paper goods to various elderly services meal sites in the two-county area.
Must be flexible and able to work in a team environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; repetitively use hands to operate a standard computer keyboard; reach with hands and arms and talk, see and hear; heavy lifting up to 100 pounds and pushing/pulling up to 500 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities:*

  • Packs van for distribution.
  • Delivers food and supplies to satellite sites.
  • Collects written orders from satellite sites and delivers to central kitchen.
  • Unloads van after distribution.
  • Handles food in a sanitary manner, adhering to food safety (time & temp control) regulations.
  • Checks bulk food and supplies against daily order sheet.
  • Works cooperatively with other kitchen staff to perform or assist in the performance of:
  • Packaging of food items for meals-on-wheels and satellite delivery, including the lifting of heavy food containers.
  • Preparation of menu items as assigned (may include carrying heavy food supplies from storeroom to kitchen). Kitchen

clean-up, including counters, cambros, garbage cans, waste disposal, and recyclable cardboard daily.

Hours:* This is a Part-Time position, 25 hous a week - Monday - Friday

Requirements
Qualifications Needed for Position:
Experience and Skill Requirements: The following experience and skills are considered essential:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.(Require copy of driving record from State Department of Safety).
  • Maintain a current medical card.
  • At least 1 year of prior work experience with stock room/delivery procedures
  • Ability to relate well to senior citizens, senior volunteer workers, cooks and other staff members.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and follow directions.
  • Completion of a New Hampshire Department of Safety Criminal record check, Bureau of Elderly and Adult Services record check and acceptance by agency.
