Fleet Parts Specialist Sr. (Fleet Services)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this classification is to receive, store, and issue the parts, materials, supplies and equipment for fleet maintenance and repair.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Four (4) years of related experience in a warehouse, monitoring inventory and purchasing
- Additional years of related education may substitute for years of experience
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Reconcile pro-card purchase and purchase orders
- Initiates requisitions for replenishing stock when necessary; acts as pro-card approver
- Maintains files on invoices for parts and services received
- Issues automotive parts, equipment, and supplies to mechanics upon request and records the transaction
- Sources specialty parts for custom built fire apparatus, heavy duty trucks, and light duty vehicles
- Log parts and inventory
- Maintain accurate on hand inventory
- Performs related work as assigned
SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
Must obtain fork lift certification within the first six (6) months of employment and maintain the license as a condition of continued employment.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
All positions require drug testing and background check before employment and may require a post-job offer physical as stated in Ordinances 21-14(b), 22-13 and 23-16.
