The Wildlife Division of Kentucky Fish and Wildlife is currently seeking a reliable Fish and Wildlife Forester II to execute the essential functions for the Northeast Branch.
Responsibilities and job duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

The Wildlife Division of Kentucky Fish and Wildlife is currently seeking a reliable Fish and Wildlife Forester II to execute the essential functions for the Northeast Branch.
Responsibilities and job duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
- With supervision this position will assist with daily activities for planning and implementing forest management plans on public land areas in the northeast branch.
- This position will work to maintain a balance of silviculture and wildlife values for wildlife management areas in the northeast.
- Data collection, marking, stand delineation, working with contractors on projects, assisting department foresters with creating bid packages and forest plans.
- Work cooperatively with biologist, consultants, federal agencies, non-governmental agencies and the public.
- Highly organized.
- Collaborate well with others.
- Frequently communicate in person or by other means of technology.
- Some experience with forest management practices is preferred, work around or with operations and knowledge around timber/forest related software.
- A 37.5 hour work week (w/occasional overtime required)

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in forestry.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Must have one year of professional experience in forestry and/or wildlife forestry
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: A master's degree in forestry will substitute for one year of the required experience.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: NONE
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must possess a valid driver's license prior to appointment in this classification. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this classification. Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee possesses and maintains required licensure(s), certification(s) or other credentials.
Working Conditions
Incumbents working in this job title spend the majority of time outdoors performing the job duties.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
