Position: Financial Paraplanner & Investment Operations Coordinator

This is a unique opportunity to support two business functions while gaining expertise in two critical areas of the financial advisory business.

The successful candidate will assist in the financial planning process and investment operations department, providing backup for full time Investment Coordinator and Financial Planning Specialist when needed.

Financial Planning Responsibilities

  • Utilize financial planning software (emoney, (Personal Financial View), Right Capital, and Holistiplan) to provide recommendations for client.
  • Gather financial documents and statements from client.
  • Identify areas for planning and collaborate with advisor on recommendations.
  • Designs / Prepares the case including but not limited to cashflow, net worth statement, asset listing, cash needs analysis.
  • Presents recommendations as needed to clients.

Investment Management and Operations Responsibilities

  • Create investment proposals with guidance from financial advisors.
  • Process investment account applications and related paperwork (learn our process) including:
  • Preparing investment paperwork
  • Monitoring new business processing, and
  • Coordinating asset transfers.
  • Working with Broker/Dealer back office,
  • Responding to and resolving customer service requests, and
  • Performing special projects and duties as assigned.

The advisory team is a successful enterprise with over 80 years of combined experience supporting clients with financial planning, investing, insurance protection, estate analysis, retirement planning, college funding, business continuation, executive fringe benefits, and 401k and other retirement programs.

Qualifications:

  • College Degree preferred
  • Should have 2 years of previous experience in the investment industry, preferably with a Broker-Dealer affiliated firm or financial advisory practice.
  • Investment licensing (Series 7, 6, 63, 65) at time of hire is preferred or hired with contingency to pass exams w/in six months of contingent hire date.
  • Life & Health license preferred at time of hire or obtained w/in six months post hire.
  • Interest in financial planning and investments

Skill Set:

  • Exceptional client service skills
  • Must be computer literate and proficient with MS Office Suite and Windows
  • Knowledge of Adobe Reader and Writer
  • Resourceful: able to discern when to take initiative and proactively address problems or when to outsource questions or tasks and ask for help
  • Critical thinking, attention to detail and multi-tasking skills required
  • Advanced ability with internet searches and web site navigation
  • Interest in learning financial concepts and strategies
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Exceptional telephone and interpersonal skills
  • Eagerness to work with others and be part of a growing team.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing

Compensation/Benefits:

  • $50,000 – 60,000 Starting base salary
  • Performance based bonus
  • 15 PTO/Sick Days
  • Work hours M-F 8-5
  • Hybrid work office
