Controller
Job Summary:
The Controller develops and implements systems for gathering, analyzing, verifying, and reporting certain types of financial information responsible for completing and administering accounting tasks. They are in charge of preparing financial statements and creating financial disclosures for future reference. The controller is responsible for communicating necessary accounting information with colleagues, outside partners, and upper management.
Duties:
· Manage the daily activities of the accounting department
· Oversee the posting and maintenance of general ledger accounts, payroll transactions, accounts payable and general ledger adjustments
· Coordinate with financial advisors, banking representatives and audit inquiries to produce required documents
· Review and monitor job recap data
· Manage vendor contracts
· Maintain the trial balance as well as help settle delinquent accounts.
· Works closely with Executive Management for complex revenue issues.
· Enforcing company policies, rules, and procedures
· Develop and maintain department procedures for managing and storing financial data.
· Suggest changes to operating procedures and accounting practices.
· Uses cost allocation and expenditure procedures to calculate future revenue
Abilities and Skills:
· Ability to work with discipline and accuracy
· Ability to manage workload in a face-paced environment
· Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with financial officials and colleagues
· Work well with other administrators to reach all organizational objectives, as well as work efficiently by themselves with minimal supervision.
· Must be proficient with basic office software, including any necessary accounting and spreadsheet software
Education/Experience
· Bachelor’s Degree in a finance-related field required. Master’s Degree preferred.
· 3-5 years of accounting/leadership related experience
· Experience in manufacturing preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
