Job description

The Hospitality Controller is a key role that reports to the General Manager and is responsible for preparing financial statements, reporting on financial progress and maintaining the books and records on property. The role requires the right balance of financial and cultural objectives and the ability to relay information about overall property performance.

  • Lead and own all day-to-day accounting functions for Hotel
  • Perform month-end closing process including reporting on financial performance and cash analysis
  • Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts
  • File monthly sales taxes
  • Plan and organize work and communication goals to ensure all accounting standards are maintained
  • Manage accounts payable in the company's purchase order system
  • Prepare financial analysis of hotel progress to assist General Manager with variance explanation and in achieving financial goals
  • Develop and implement financial control procedures and systems; maintain documents for audits of hotel accounts; ensure compliance with government regulations and contractual agreements
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments
  • Ensure all accounts are reconciled monthly; review and submit for approval

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of hotel/resort accounting experience required
  • Financial management software experience, ProfitSword and M3 experience is a plus
  • PMS and POS systems experience is a plus
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Effective communication skills including the ability to collaborate with hospitality team members
  • Mathematical skills including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $89,534.00 - $97,029.00 per year
