Job Title: Financial Analyst II – PSS FM

Location: Quantico, Virginia


Introduction:

Rivet Operations Company has an opening for a detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join our team in the Stafford, Virginia area. Rivet is an exceptional industry partner to the US Marine Corps and a leader in financial management, audit improvement, physical and cyber security, IT management, logistics, supply chain management, and process improvement.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide financial management support to the Marine Corps System Command, Director Financial Management, Operations & Maintenance Marine Corps Appropriation financial management (FM) team
  • Use the Status of Funds (SOF) and Active File Data Element Reports (i.e. DTR) from SMARTS and DAI to reconcile accounting logs and submit weekly financial status report to the FM lead
  • Prepare funding documents packages and input funding document data, to include execution of basic funding documents as well as amendments to the basic funding document, into DAI
  • Record, track, and update funding document and spend plan data within CERBERUS
  • Track, verify, and reconcile that the funding commitments, de-commitments, and de-obligations are posted properly
  • Analyze current and historical Planning, Programming, Budgeting Execution (PPBE) data and extract, analyze, and submit financial data from the PPBE to build financial products, for example building of spend plans
  • Research financial records and input data in accordance with the guidelines as well as DoD Financial Management Regulations
  • Conduct trend analysis on outstanding records from quarter to quarter

Education, Experience, Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field) or equivalent experience
  • Four or more years’ experience as Financial Analyst with the Department of Defense, USMC experience is preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • Proficient in data analytics and electronic data research
  • Familiar with DoD fiscal terms and processes
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to interact efficiently with Military Personnel and Civilians
  • Typing skills (ability to type 45 words per minute)
  • Ability to pay attention to details
  • Requires the applicant to pass the background investigation requirement for the position


Physical Requirements:

  • Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distance may be required. May include lifting to 25 pounds as necessary.
