Join the finance team supporting the dynamic General Surgical Technologies (GST) business and have the opportunity to develop as a leader and strategic advisor!

The Principal Financial Analyst will support relationships across the GST US Commercial business, build and maintain a trusted partnership with the business, and will be a voice for the finance organization. The primary responsibilities of this position are to perform and analyze financial models, identify market trends, investigate variance drivers, build financial forecasts, analyze P&L statements, and provide financial insights to GST leadership to drive financial execution.

This position will work directly with the Sr. Finance Manager of GST, Commercial and Marketing business partners, and corporate teams to complete month-end financial activities, financial planning initiatives, and important strategic analytics.

A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

• Fiduciary responsibilities for the US General Surgical Technologies business including month-end close, forecasting, journal entries, and ensuring financial compliance.
• Be the Finance contact for US GST monthly tactical plan, present and follow up on action items to achieve the US forecast
• Responsible for accurate and timely month-end financial reporting and presentations to both financial and non-financial leaders
• Proactively manage cost saving initiatives for the GST team and manage communication with leaders to understand trend and results
• Coordinate/prepare monthly/quarterly reports for the GST leadership teams and provide deviations from trends and forecasts
• Implement and manage enhancements to the US Sales/Margin forecast process
• Identify Risks & Opportunities based on IBP, commercial insights, and sales trends
• Consolidate business partner’s inputs for Monthly and Quarterly financial reviews (MFR, QFR)
• Manage SOGL reduction & inventory reserve plans and action items
• Work on ad-hoc data consolidation and financial models for GST
• Ensure Corporate submissions for all processes are conducted in a timely manner
• Be the subject matter expert for all CMR, GPS, SPEND, and Anaplan tool reporting

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree with 7+ years of work experience in Finance and/or Accounting (Advanced Degree with 5+ years)

Nice to Have

• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, including both the ability to identify key trends and drivers and proven experience translating financial data into meaningful, concise information
• Demonstrated ability and success working with minimal supervision, including flexibility to changing priorities in a proactive and self-motivated manner
• Advanced skills using Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and PowerBI)
• Experience with Medtronic financial systems (Essbase/Hyperion, SAP, Enrich)
• Strong results orientation and bias for action, including a high degree of initiative in understanding business needs
• Flexible, friendly, team-oriented disposition that thrives in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent written/oral communication and presentation skills, including the ability to translate financial data into concise information for management

The provided base salary range is used nationally (except in certain CA locations). The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience, certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.
