QUESTIONS
This is a Full-Time, Non-Civil Service position with medical, dental, vision, and other benefits at Metro Action Commission. The position performs entry-level, professional, and analytical work involved in the field of finance and administration.
- Perform routine duties required to process fund accounting transactions in the accounting department
- Process accounts payable transactions and payroll time entry for agency-wide staff
- Perform routine professional accounting duties along with duties associated with month-end close
- Process general ledger accounting transactions, including preparing journal entries
- Prepare grant fund reimbursement billings and quarterly reports for state, federal and private grantors
- Prepare monthly, budget vs. actual reports and other financial reports as assigned
- Research and resolve accounting problems
- Prepare or oversee preparation of payrolls
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field from an accredited college/university and five years of experience working in accounting, finance, or related field. Valid Driver License
Note: Per Metro Ordinance No. SO94-1078 . All employees of the Metropolitan Government shall be residents of the State of Tennessee or become residents of the state within six (6) months of employment as a prerequisite to employment with the Metropolitan Government.
- Grant accounting experience
- Computer literate in Excel and Microsoft Word
- Knowledge of methods, practices, and terminology used in general and/or grant accounting environment
