Position Summary

Conduct a variety of electrical and mechanical tests on medical devices to ensure unit performance meets specifications. Perform testing, troubleshooting, repair of equipment and documentation of corrections.

Duties

  • Test functional performance of systems, subassemblies, and components.
  • Perform quality assurance testing during assembly to detect and prevent defective components from being installed and reaching the end user.
  • Complete equipment setup and calibration in preparation of product testing.
  • Download/input system parameters used to control the device operations and evaluate performance.
  • Troubleshoot finished product’s electrical and mechanical systems to assure equipment meets all specifications.
  • Analyze test results on defective units to determine root cause of failure.
  • Complete and maintain all manufacturing documentation assuring compliance to regulatory and business requirements.
  • Record discrepancies/failures in test log for defect reports and trending.
  • Confer with supervisors, engineers, other technicians, and other production personnel regarding results and make recommendations to resolve problems.
  • Perform various assembly tasks of sub-assemblies & systems.
  • Ability to work in a team environment requiring participation and leadership of team meetings to address daily productivity and quality issues.
  • Understanding/familiarity of lean manufacturing concepts including 5S, Kaizen and other lean principles, and the ability to apply these concepts to daily work.

Education Degree

  • Associate's Degree in Electronics

Required Experience

  • 2-3 years’ job experience trouble shooting/repairing electronic equipment or a two-year technical degree in electronics
  • Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and electronics knowledge of solenoids, PLC’s, slaves, relays, check valves, pumps, and other hydraulic components and ability to trouble shoot
  • Ability to read and interpret schematic drawings, assembly drawings, and bills of materials.
  • Competent in using various types of testing equipment such as ohm meters, frequency meters, etc.
  • Ability to draw conclusions from test data and the ability to read and understand complex test instructions
  • Competency with Microsoft based software including word processing, spreadsheets and/or databases.
