JOB SUMMARY

The Field Specialist works in conjunction with the Superintendent’s, the Maintenance Planner and the Area Operations Manager. This position will provide preventive and corrective maintenance, scheduled inspections on specialized equipment, equipment restoration, assembly, commissioning, technical assistance, training, documentation and troubleshooting for the facilities. Provide direction to solve issues of a technical nature related primarily to plant process equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Comply with Eco Material Technologies Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Responsible for evaluating procedures to achieve maximum plant effectiveness and to assist the Superintendent and Supervisors in optimizing operation detail
  • Develop maintenance and repair procedures as required. Direct and/or assist site mechanics with repair projects as directed
  • Participate in aspects of the Safety program in relation to the facility and lead by example in performing in a safe manner always. Participate in safety meetings and procedures with the assistance of the Safety Steering Committee
  • Maintain high levels of facility performance at all sites by continually evaluating controls and procedures and adjusting as necessary
  • Maintain daily plant housekeeping standards by utilizing established procedures
  • Stay informed of issues in the facility and ensure effective resolution of identified issues and needs, provide technical assistance
  • Work with Superintendent, Supervisor’s and Maintenance Planner to provide a working maintenance schedule and ensure sourcing of parts needed for the facility
  • Advise Superintendents and the Area Operations Manager of critical and continuing maintenance problems and assist in root cause failure analysis of equipment
  • Perform special studies, process analysis and process revisions as requested
  • Communicate as needed with host utility relative to work assigned
  • Fill in for Operational personnel and Supervisor as required
  • Ability to travel between sites to assist, perform and direct with special projects, equipment inspections, repairs and restorations

  • Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict management skills
  • Strong technical knowledge related to specialized equipment and process
  • Knowledge and understanding of the specific trades/skills required to properly service process equipment
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage and/or lead projects and teams of people
  • Awareness of EEO issues related to the facility
  • Excellent planning, organizing, prioritizing, and time management skills
  • Ability to deal effectively with different types of people at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to recognize, reward and promote positive performance
  • Must have working knowledge of spreadsheets, databases, word processing and other related software

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 1 - 2 years' experience in functional role

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee should possess the ability to:

  • Be exposed to temperature extremes inside or out
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that maybe uncomfortable
  • Prolong standing on concrete or in stationary position for up to eight hours per workday
  • Complete repetitive movements
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment
  • Lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to ascend/descend stairs or ladders
  • Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions.
  • Ability to use Respirator (pass respirator fit test)
  • Moderate physical effort required
