FIELD QUALITY ENGINEER
SOUTHFIELD, MICHIGAN – WORLD HEADQUARTERS


As a member of the Quality team, the Field Quality Engineer will be responsible for supporting the external quality lifecycle of Lear’s leather group. In the position you will act as the first line of quality support for all material shipped in the designated region, operating as the internal and external Voice of Customer for Customer Quality.


The Role:

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

  • Support throughout Lifecycle stages including PreSOP/Launch and SOP to Build Out
  • Provide Leather 101 training to internal stakeholders and external customers
  • Managing internal procedures outlined for quality complaints in accordance to plan and in collaboration with other quality teams, ensuring proper stakeholders are engaged in corrective actions and product replacement
  • Work closely with customers, establishing relationship to ensure the organization is meeting quality standards and expectations and providing guidance regarding material usage
  • Work closely with plant leadership to resolve any issues through problem solving while managing the pipeline needs

Your Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years working in a Quality function within a manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical field form an accredited institution
  • Ability to travel to Lear and customer sites frequently
  • Knowledge of Quality Systems, ISO9000/QS9000 and IATF16949
  • Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, Control Plans, PFMEA
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to work both independently and as part of a team; planning and organizational skills; strong analytical and problem-solving skills
