Summary

Performs various tasks under supervision to assist in the everyday operations of the feedlot by performing thefollowing duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Drain, clean and scrub water tanks in cattle pens.
• Cleans pens, scales, feed bunks, water tank drains, and water troughs to remove dust and sand particles in order to ensure healthy feeding facilities.
• Makes routine repairs and performs general maintenance duties in the feedlot.
• Occasionally drive water truck to water livestock and/or control dust.
• Performs other duties as instructed by supervisor.
• Other duties may be assigned.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situation.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

The employee is frequently around cattle and in pens with cattle. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions and is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is frequently in close proximity to cattle and often in pens with cattle. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
