Purpose of Position:

The Farm Coordinator has primary responsibility for maintaining direct contact with the producers; overseeing flock management and ensuring all paperwork is in order according to relevant regulations.

Essential Duties:
  • Monitor (and Record) feed costs for producers (and keep in regular communication with the feed mills to stay updated.)
  • Manage and update compliance paperwork and schedules (organic, CA, CH & Egg Rule) The paperwork will continue to be completed by the servicemen but will be managed by Westfield.
  • Communicate with serviceman and farmers for updating the flock schedules and maintaining compliance.
  • Work with Ronald to manage supply and approve farmers.
  • Update flock schedules in NAV.
  • Run flock projections for management decisions
  • Maintain farms as approved vendors as required by the FSMA and SQF
  • Work with serviceman and farmer on egg color, nutrition & size (and implement regular yolk color testing).
  • Perform farm inspections to verify compliance
  • Attend FDA farm inspections
  • Attend organic and industry meetings
  • Develop and oversee new flock projects like blue eggs
  • Research ways to improve hen lifestyle and reduce loss
  • Work to develop and implement supply growth strategies
  • Help match supply and demand
  • Monitor biosecurity supplies at the farm
  • Oversee temp recorder program
  • Manage and file digital and paper files
  • Match supply and sales monthly

Position Requirements:
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Be fully trained on industry-accepted biosecurity protocols or be willing to go through this training.
  • Good handwriting and typing skills
  • 1 -3 years related experience and/or training (farm work, poultry, etc.).
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
