Job description
Job Responsibilities:
- Assess family needs including gathering social-emotional information on the child and family/provide recommendations for families in acquiring needed resources for their children in the program.
- Conduct social history component of the evaluation process including bio-psychosocial assessment and adaptive evaluations (i.e. Vineland) for students.
- Compile evaluation results and complete reports and share with parents and team members.
- Participate as a team member in the Initial Eligibility and Reevaluation Process as related to ESE identification in FLDOE.
- Facilitate and ensure implementation of regular Parent Engagement activities including coordinating Title I (documentation, meetings, etc.).
- Provide individual and family counseling for students/parents and document as required (i.e. case notes/billing notes if applicable)
- Assist other staff members in problem solving on family issues/concerns.
- Serve as the head of the Child Study team for campus/follow up/document any attendance issues.
- Supervise Bachelor level social worker interns.
- Serve as lead and provide any needed follow up for campus Threat Assessment Team meetings.
- Provides additional support to campus as needed (i.e. ESE compliance assistance, scheduling, etc.).
Education and Training:
Master’s Degree in Social Work or Counseling.
Prefer Licensed or Registered Intern
Minimum Experience:
2 years’ experience as a social worker/counselor.
Experience in providing individual and group counseling to children and families.
Experience creating parent engagement activities/events.
Prefer experience working in a school setting.
Experience in Assessment/Testing (i.e. Vineland)
