Westover Law Group is a local, boutique, law firm catering exclusively to Family Law clients. We specialize in the difficult, complex, and even the previously "messed up" Family Law cases. We are, primarily, a litigation firm. I am sure you hate shuffling paperwork across a desk as much as I do, so at our firm you can plan on actual courtroom experience. If you have litigation experience, you can certainly hit the ground running here. If you are new to family law, or are a new attorney, we can help train you for a career in litigation.

Our firm is growing. Looking to add another attorney to our firm so that we can better serve our current client base. Here, you will also get a chance to work on appeals as well as some civil litigation cases.

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION: The associate will be staffed on 30-40 family law cases, including legal separation, divorce, annulment, paternity, and domestic violence. The associate will be responsible for client intake interviews, coordinating client consultations with supervising attorneys, drafting pleadings, drafting financial disclosures, drafting Requests for Order, drafting discovery, negotiating with opposing counsel, calendaring court dates, and communicating with client. Although we are always interested in settling cases when possible, we are a litigation firm and you will have significant court experience.

SKILLS: A minimum of 3-5 years of family law experience as an attorney is preferred. The perfect candidate will have 5+ years of in-court Family Law experience. Entry level (just licensed or still waiting on BAR results) will also be considered.

The ideal candidate has experience preparing financial disclosures, drafting and responding to discovery, preparing judicial counsel forms, drafting Requests for Order/Motion re custody, support, visitation, domestic violence, and property issues. You will run your own cases. If you are a new attorney, you will do so under supervision as part of your training.

Must be licensed, and in good standing, with the State Bar of California.

Certified Family Law Specialization is a plus.

Salary will be based on experience. Please include salary requirements when applying. Our firm covers all your annual MCLE, Bar dues, and professional memberships. A health plan and retirement plan will be available after a short probationary period.

Our firm is located in Murrieta. Our cases are primarily in Hemet, Downtown Riverside, Vista, San Bernardino, and Orange. Must be prepared to travel as needed to these courthouses.
