LSSI is hiring a full-time Intact Child Welfare Specialist, Monday through Friday. Provides the full casework services to assure the safety and well-being of children by assisting families to meet minimum parenting standards. Service provision is in compliance with state mandates, COA standards, agency policies, and program plans.

COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement: *This position complies with the Governor’s Executive Order Mandate. This means, upon hire, any individual who is not fully vaccinated, regardless of the reason, must agree and adhere to undergo weekly COVID-19 testing and provide confirmation of a negative test result on a weekly basis until either (a.) documentation of full vaccination is provided; or (b.) unless a documented medical or religious exemption is requested and approved by LSSI. If not exempted from the vaccine requirement due to a medical or religious reason, proof is required upon hire of their FDA-approved COVID-19 vaccination record; or at minimum, provide proof of the first dose of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccine series; and while continuing to submit to routine COVID-19 testing, they must have the second dose of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccine series within 30 days after receiving their first dose. All doses must be immediately followed up with valid documented proof of vaccination*

Essential Functions:

  • Provides casework through professional assessment of the family's problems, the provision of necessary services within the policies of the agency, accreditation body, and regulatory entity.
  • Perform all tasks required in the written service plan that is based upon the comprehensive, integrated assessment being certain to engage children and families in these processes.
  • Complete and submit all required reports, documentation and billing accurately and timely as required by agency and funding sources.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other service providers, schools, and healthcare facilities to promote the child(ren)'s well-being.
  • Participate in supervisory process for guidance, direction, support, and approval of decision-making, assessment, service planning and intervention. Present cases for staffing and conduct family-child team meetings.
Position Qualifications:
In addition to a real passion for working with at-risk children and families, this opportunity requires:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or degree in related human services field.
  • State licensing/certification as required by the State of Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
  • Background check and clearance, both criminal and CANTS
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, both verbally and in writing.
  • Valid Illinois driver’s license, proof of automobile liability insurance .Access to transportation for visits, and to transport clients to and from appointments.
