Job description
The Director of Faith Formation will be responsible for the oversight of the parish Faith Formation program (K- 5th grade). The Director oversees and directs the other staff members of the Faith Formation office (Assistant & Admin
Assistant), and works collaboratively with the Youth Ministry staff and the School Staff.
Job Responsibilities:
- Direct the Saturday morning Faith Formation program for grades K-5
- Direct the Saturday “Our Faith” classes (Rite of Christian Initiation for children)
- Oversee the Saturday SPRED Classes (for students with special needs)
- Oversee the Sunday “Wee Praise” program for children ages 3-5, during 9am Mass
- Oversee the Family Faith Formation program. Organize the parish Advent Giving Tree
- Oversee the implementation of Family Life/safe environment catechesis in Faith Formation
- Oversee the summer Vacation Bible School, collaborating with St. Francis of Assisi Parish
- Direct the preparation for and the celebration of First Confessions and First Holy y Communion
- Oversee catechist/volunteer recruitment and formation
- Ensure compliance with all Child Protection policies and Virtus training
- Oversee the administration of all Faith Formation programs, including:
- Oversee the registration process for all Faith Formation programs, including (middle/high school)
- Maintain the Faith Formation website, along with Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest sites
- Maintain the Faith Formation database for all grades, elementary through high school
- Maintain email communication with all Faith Formation families
- Oversee the operation of the Faith Formation office
- Supervise the Faith Formation office staff
- Prepare and monitor Faith Formation budget
- Research, order and maintain all Faith Formation/Sacrament Curricula and resources
- Purchase & maintain all catechist and student supplies
Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Some college-level study of Catholic theology or youth ministry preferred
- Some experience in Religious Education or Youth Ministry preferred
- Ability to be positive, professional, and empathetic with youth, parents, and staff
- Ability to maintain proper boundaries with youth and strong knowledge of Child Protection policies
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Drive, parish database, and office equipment
- Practicing Catholic
