Summary

The Role of Maintenance Technician is to provide a variety of facility support functions and duties. Minor repairs and maintenance needs, unskilled painting needs, physical inspections of the facilities and premises, and other related duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

• Under the direction and supervision of a facility manager, may conduct minor repairs to the facilities and premises as assigned including painting, patching, office and kitchen equipment, furniture, walls, ceiling tiles, carpeting, floor tiles, etc.
• Perform Preventive Maintenance, troubleshooting, basic repairs, adjustments and installations to commercial mechanical.
• Schedule and direct work to be done by outside contractors as directed by facility manager
• Repairs on toilet facilities
• Replacement of lamps and cleaning of light fixtures
• Removing and replacing ceiling tiles
• Minor repairs on furniture and floors
• Maintain painting in building facilities
• Replacement of air filters in the HVAC equipment
• General cleaning in mechanical spaces
• Cleanup of equipment in mechanical rooms and shop
• Miscellaneous handy man work requiring limited use of hand tools
• Cleaning of vents and roof drains
• Setup conference areas for events and meetings
• Install and move furniture in office spaces
• Limited travel may be required

Requirements

• Willingness to learn new skills
• Proactive and hard working
• Ability to communicate and respond effectively to key stakeholders on project status
• Proficient with computers (Office Suite)
• Must be willing to work a rotating “On Call” schedule which requires 24/7 response availability
• High school diploma or GED

Physical Requirements

• Must be physically capable of performing the duties of the position including bending, squatting, stretching and lifting up to 25 pounds on a regular basis
• On occasion, may be required to lift items weighing 50 to 100 pounds
• Must be able to read and follow written manuals and SOP’s

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
